We can’t quite believe we are writing this statement once again, but with heavy hearts we can now confirm that Starry Skies will not take place in 2021.
We held on as long as we could in the hopes we could make something work, but the landscape for events this Summer remains really uncertain – particularly without the safety net of a government backed insurance scheme. As a small, independent event, the risk of a last minute cancellation is not a gamble we are able to take.
If we were to push ahead with Starry Skies this year, there’s a decent chance that, should the roadmap targets not be met, social distancing measures may still be in place. Our beautiful little site in Usk just doesn’t have the space to accommodate this, and as anyone who’s joined us before will know, Starry is about making new friends, be that kids tearing off into the woods together, or the grown ups sharing a tipple round the fire. A socially distanced Starry Skies just wouldn’t cut the mustard.
To protect the future of our little festival, we’re going to sit this one out, to ensure we can come back better than ever in 2022.
We want to thank each and every one of you who have supported us over the past year. Thank you for your patience whilst we’ve wrangled with this difficult decision.
This year we have decided to refund all ticket holders. For various complicated reasons (and for us to be in the best position to bounce back in 2022) we simply need to manage it this way.
The Ticket Sellers will be processing these refunds over the coming weeks, you do not need to take any action. Any additional extras you have booked (e.g – glamping) will also be automatically refunded.
Refunds will be minus booking fees. We have always insisted on keeping booking fees as low as is possible. These are the processing costs for our ticket agents – none of the booking fee money goes to us. The Ticket Sellers have a seriously big job on their hands processing these refunds, and have done an incredible amount of extra work over the past year, handling masses of extra enquiries so these processing costs are unavoidable – thank you for your understanding.
We hope you can all join us again in Summer 2022 for a serious, Starry reunion! Sending so much love to each of you, and to your wild, wise and hilarious kids – we miss you all very much.
Team Starry x
Pssst! In the meantime, we’re not resting on our laurels – stay tuned for more information on…
